Our 12th Anniversary!

It was 12 years ago today that we took the leap of faith and started a crazy journey! We had a wonderful weekend together enjoying some of our most favorite things! Saturday included a snowy car drive down to Detroit (truly one of our favorite cities!) to go to the Red Wings game (our favorite sports team!) which took almost an hour-and-a-half due to the snow covered roads. The drive was very similar to the one we took downtown on the night of our rehearsal and dinner. The roads were covered and traffic was slow! We planned to go to a new Mexican and Italian restaurant for dinner called El Barzon, but the weather didn't allow us enough time, so we headed to our usual "shuttle to the Joe" spot, Nemo's. After scarfing down a basket of french fries (favorite!) and a draft beer (favorite!) we were off to the game! We ate a box of popcorn (favorite!) and a few beers and watched to Wings beat Buffalo 3-1! Yay! Needless to say we were starving by the time we left, but our luck all of the restaurants we wanted to go to were closed! We walked through MGM Grand Casino looking for a nice place to eat, but it was mostly seafood (not my favorite!), so we ended up at the Mexican Village Restaurant (not high-class, but Mexican food is another of our favorites!). The night ended with a loonnggg snowy drive home! Today, our actual anniversary, included brunch at Union (another favorite!) and going to the movies together (favorite pastime together!) to see The Story of Benjamin Button with Brad Pitt. We ended the afternoon picking up a few things for me at Ann Taylor Loft (another one of my favorites!). Nothing overly exciting, but two days spent doing things we love to do together... going downtown, eating bad-for-us food, Mexican food, brunch at Union, going to the movies, and shopping! Doesn't get better than that... other than maybe a beach in Mexico! I love that I've been married to this wonderful (but bratty at times!) man for twelve years and that we enjoy doing the simple things in life together!
